Bukenkan of India · Authentic Okinawan Tradition Since 1975
The art of Karate was developed across the islands of Okinawa. The style which emerged in Shuri came to be known as Shorin Ryu — emphasising speed, breathing, coordination, and internal peace. The Matsubayashi branch was founded by O'Sensei Shoshin Nagamine, one of the most revered karate masters of the 20th century.
Grandmaster Katsuo Shiroma trained directly under O'Sensei Nagamine, and after his passing founded the Bukenkan — meaning "Art Focus School". The Bukenkan Dojo in India is proudly led by Hanshi S. Rajamani, who has practiced Shorin Ryu Karate continuously since 1975.
